Palm Sunday

Last Sunday, Jerry & I went to see the babies and picked up Brady for an afternoon of fun. Here we are loading into the car.

First stop was Discovery Green Park and we were surprised to learn that Shell was hosting an "eco-marathon"! Jerry and Brady checking out the race cars.

The cars were powered in a variety of ways ... we don't know what this thing was!

This one was completely clear and you could see the driver all crunched in there.

This one looked like duct tape, but it could have been some type of very flexible fiber glass. It wasn't going very fast.

Very cool - Darth Vader like - solar car!

Here's Brady humoring Grandma Nan and standing by the colored blocks for a photo.

Much more fun to climb on the rubber hill ...

Or play music on the pipes ...

Or slide ...

Jerry was trying to get Brady to touch the wall of water drops on this beautiful water sculpture, but he wouldn't come any closer than this!

After Discovery Green, we decided to have lunch at the Old Spaghetti Warehouse and it was delicious. Here's a photo of Brady wearing lots of spaghetti and drinking Diet Coke. In our defence, he had already finished one bowl of spaghetti and a class of milk before he started with the Coke!

Riding the pony inside Spaghetti Warehouse.

The other great thing about eating at Spaghetti Warehouse is that it's just a short walk up the hill to UH Downtown to catch the train. Trains are a BIG deal with Brady and it was lots of fun to watch him riding a REAL train. Here they are waiting at the station for our driver to complete his break.

Starting out ...

"Choo-choo"!

This could be a regular activity, Brady was having a blast.

Waiting at the Hermann Park Station for our return train.

Look! Here comes our train back to UofH!

It was a fun day and we were all EXHAUSTED (including Brady) when we dropped him off in Pearland that afternoon.
