El's Thanksgiving Bird

I think everyone knows about Denny & Elvis taking walks outside, wearing a leash. To be clear, we're not walking them ... they're walking us. We don't follow a set path, but they like to cover their favorite spots when they go out: Mary Louise's flowerbed, the broken fence board at the end of the street, the big drain to see if there is any moving water, and always a cruise down the side alley to watch the birds fly out of the bushes.

So yesterday morning, before our Thanksgiving lunch, Elvis was throwing a fit to go out. We "leashed up" and Jerry took El, while I took Denny. Elvis immediately headed around the corner to the bushes and Denny headed to Mary Louise's house. Soon, we heard Jerry shouting.

Elvis had lunged into a bush and caught a bird between his front paws! Jerry pulled him back with the leash and he let the bird go. Thankfully, it flew off - no worse for the wear - other than an elevated heart rate, I am sure!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Say a Prayer for Kent

I haven't mentioned this to most of you who follow by blog, but my wonderful brother-in-law was recently diagnosed with what they believe is a brain tumor. Today is a big step in his diagnosis and treatment, but it involves a biopsy of the "lesion" on the right frontal lobe of his brain.

Please keep Kent in your prayers today, during this procedure, and in the coming days, weeks and months as he makes his way to a full recovery. Visit http://kentcain.com/ to check in on him and learn more about the history of his brain tumor. You can "become a follower" to receive email notifications when new information is posted.
